Update your clock

This updater is for clocks from before over-the-air updates — including the original clocks. Newer clocks quietly update themselves overnight and never need it. Running it on a clock that is already current changes nothing.

You'll need a USB cable that carries data — one that works for copying photos off a phone is right. Many charging cables carry power only, and the clock won't appear with one of those.

On a Mac

1. Double-click the downloaded ZIP to unpack it.
2. Plug the clock into the Mac with the USB cable.
3. Right-click "Update my Timeframe clock" and choose Open.
4. Leave the clock plugged in until it says it has finished — about a minute.

The right-click → Open dance is only needed the first time: it is how macOS accepts an app that arrived as a download.

On a Windows PC

1. Right-click the downloaded ZIP and choose Extract All…
2. Plug the clock into the PC with the USB cable.
3. Double-click "Update my Timeframe clock" in the extracted folder.
4. Leave the clock plugged in until it says it has finished — about a minute.

If SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC", choose More info, then Run anyway.

What to expect

1. The updater finds the clock itself and tells you what it found — it knows every generation, including the very first clocks.
2. The face goes dark while the new software is written. That is normal; don't unplug it until the updater says it has finished.
3. It prints the clock's serial number at the end — if Lachlan asked you for anything, it's that.
4. A freshly updated clock that doesn't know your wifi yet shows a slow spiral and raises a network called Timeframe‑Setup — join it on your phone and it will walk you through the rest.

The updater never asks for your wifi password, and nothing about your clock's face, birthdays, or colours is touched by an update.
